Teaching

As technology becomes more pervasive, Aaron believes the skills of narrative and interpersonal communication are precious resources.

Teaching at every level from corporate to elementary has given him insight and experience. This allows Aaron to offer people perspective that they can understand and benefit from.

Corporate

With over 20 years of experience, Aaron has led more than 100 workshops and trainings. As a Corporate Facilitator with Dramaworks, ImprovBoston, and Steel City Improv Theatre, Aaron has worked with clients such as IBM, Monitor, Oxford Biosciences, Harvard admin staff, Katz business school, and Uber.

Additionally, Aaron has served as an Assistant Manager of a sales staff of 7 in Hi FI specialty store. He has completed the Dale Carnegie sales training.

University

  • Instructor of both intro and advanced level improvisation

  • Director of theater program with duties including direction, set construction, lighting design, front of house and publicity. Produced two plays per year. Additionally directed student improvisational troupe.

    Taught 3 courses/term (3 credit hours - THE111, THE105, COM115) and designed course content for these class offerings. Utilized interpretive grading and advising.

  • Instructor in improvisational theater. Taught 5-week daily class, 9am to 4pm for transferring sophomores.

  • As a teaching artist, Aaron meets with classroom teachers and implements theater arts exercises to serve the topics of study while exploring theater. Contracts continue to vary, but Aaron has served Perry, Brashear, MLK, Cranberry and other Pittsburgh schools.

    2015 - present

  • Aaron served as a teaching artist with the Summer Dreamers program for two years. He worked with MLK Jr. on the North Side and Brashear.

  • Aaron has been a Bricolage teaching artist for over four years, working with Pittsburgh-area schools to create their own performances.

  • Lead teacher for Multi-arts program for 7/8th grades. Responsibilities included directing one show and, assistant directing the spring musical. Also directed 2nd - 6th grade classroom plays.

    Aaron received training in diversity outreach work and was Facilitator for the Charles River School’s efforts in this field.

Improv Coaching

  • Frequent coach and performer at Steel City Improv Theater and Arcade Comedy Theater.

    Played for: High Scores, Always B Sharp, Penny Arcade, Hashtag the Musical in NYC

  • Helped to Chair Theater during artistic transition (1996-98).

    Assistant Director responsible for running rehearsals, training understudies, casting shows, and leading technical direction.

  • Instructor for consecutive 8 week programs for New England Actors Theater (for Jerry Prell).

    Directed and performed with the company’s improvisational theater troupe Neatniks.
